First Degree
First Degree Information can be found on the State Calendar.
To have your degree posted on the calendar, please email the webmaster with the following information:
When - Time and date, candidates report time and degree start time
Where - Address and building where the degree will take place
Contact Information - Who should candidates or other councils contact for more information, name, email, and phone number. Contact MUST include the Grand Knight.

A verification email will be sent to the requestor to check for correctness.

The Fr. Joseph N. Patterson Council #3121 is honored to host the upcoming Second and Third Degree Exemplifications.  First Degree members should be encouraged to complete their journey to full Knighthood in our honored order.  Please contact the Grand Knight, Deacon Bruce Bennett, no later than June 1, 2015 with the number of candidates and members expected to attend.

            Second Degree Begins promptly at 10:00 AM
            Third Degree follows the Second Degree
            Ceremony is scheduled to end at 2:00 PM

            Registration Fee$10.00 per candidate, payable at registration

            Members Continental Breakfast:  Coffee and doughnuts will be provided by the Host Council       before the Second Degree.  Donations are gladly accepted.
            Lunch:  $7.00 per person, lunch will be served after the Third Degree.

To aid the host council to properly prepare for the Second and Third degree exemplifications, please contact the host council and provide the number of candidates and members who plan to attend and how many for lunch.  This RSVP is requested by June 1, 2015.

At registration, all candidates must show a valid First Degree Membership card and their registration fee will be collected.  Current members in the Third Degree must also show a valid Third Degree membership prior to entry into the Chamber.  It is important that the candidates be escorted by their sponsor or someone from their council.

The Exemplification of the Second and Third Degrees is a special event, one that will be always remembered.  Therefore, proper dress is required of the candidates and members attending the degree.  The requested attire of collared shirts, slacks, and shoes are considered appropriate dress.  Shorts, tank tops, tee shirts, and sandals are not considered acceptable dress for candidates and members.

Worthy District Deputies, Grand Knights and Faithful Navigators,

The next 4th Degree Exemplification will take place June 13, 2015 at the Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix. 

The Fourth Degree is the most visible arm of the Knights of Columbus and represents the last principal of the order: Patriotism. This includes promoting responsible citizenship and love and loyalty to their country. 

Members of the Fourth Degree are asked to participate to serve in the Honor Guard, which serves at civic and religious functions. 

Faithful Navigators, there will be a Honor Guard Competition that will take place on Saturday. Please inform the District Master if your assembly would like to participate in this event. This is the perfect opportunity to show the candidates the honor and prestige of a well executed drill team. All 3rd Degree members are highly encouraged to further their advancement in to the order by becoming a Fourth Degree member. Members who wear the emblem of the degree are committed to conduct themselves honorably as Catholic gentlemen in both their private and public life as well as patriotically for the good of the country. The Fourth Degree sword represents their reverence for the Eucharist and the Pope, Bishops, and hierarchy of the church, and displays publicly his willingness to protect the Church and Priests.

Please also remember the program, Building the 4th Degree through the 1st Degree. Any 4th Degree Knight who recruits a new member through their 1st Degree, will receive the 2014-2015 Arizona Star Recruiter pin plus an additional special 4th Degree commemorative gift.
